utah weekend

i love utah. i get so excited every time i see those mountains and even though i grew up there it feels like a relaxing vacation spot to me now. I drove up with these best girlfriends of mine and we slept in st. george for a night. i usually sleep during road trips but this one was too much fun. i felt like i'd be missing out if i let myself doze off. (some of these pictures are stolen instagrams...)

if you think it was quiet in the car for even one second of the drive you are dead wrong.

katie is the cutest pregnant woman alive. we had some good girl time and i was wishing so hard she'd go into labor while i was there but it didn't happen. sam was on a camping trip so i would have to have been the hero that cut the umbilical cord and welcome baby into the world. sigh.

i had the most magical reunion with this guy!

greatest friend dinner on friday. thai food that i forced on everyone that turned out to be really good and nielsen's/movie afterwards. my favorite people on earth, hands down. i'm so obsessed with the fact that we have been and will be friends our whole lives. not very many people are lucky enough to have that. p.s. there were way more people there, i'm sad we didn't get a group picture.

 we took a family trip to city creek and i fell in love! utah is getting so fancy!

 dad and i went to the driving range for a little birthday activity. he's a good teacher because he's such a legit golfer and just really patient with my girly skills. i think i want to pick it up now so we can golf together.

this girlfriend is a girly girl through and through and she completely has my heart because of it. she's obsessed with makeup, jewelry, and marrying prince charming- no joke.

i couldn't love her more.

the weather was sooo dreammmmyyyy. everyone (mostly pregnant katie) was complaining about the heat but i was loving it. hot wind. who could ask for anything more? plus 82 degrees in the middle of the night?? i wanted to bring it back to the beach with me.

i can't get enough of this guy! we were night owls together because apparently i'm a night owl now... odd. loved catching up and trying to find decent donuts for breakfast. i've never realized how sad the donut situation is in murray.

word to the wise donut lovers: move to orange county.

back on the road and of course it wouldn't be a trip with lauren and brecken without making some horrible life decisions. like a $5 enormous shake that i didn't even get halfway through. i'd kill to be eating that right now though.

lack of sleep caught up with us on the drive back but don't worry this nap didn't last long since brecken likes to scare the daylights out of me with her driving.

i had a bit of an epiphany on the drive back... i was leaving utah and super sad about leaving so many great people that i love. but realized i was driving home to california to people that are also great and that i missed while i was gone. while driving WITH some of the best girlfriends i've ever had. maybe it sounds dumb but i can't get over how blessed i am in the friends/family department.

high quality people no matter what state i'm in.

thank goodness i have a couple more utah trips planned for this summer!

i can't wait to get back.
